Military themed accommodation in a former US Army Command Truck in Idaho
Convinced pacifists won't take much pleasure in this campsite. But anyone who has always wanted to experience first hand how American soldier life feels during the service will be thrilled by the outdoor lodging in a specially improvised camp on a wooded hotel grounds in the state of Idaho.
Here guests can either take part with their family or in a small group of friends for leisure manoeuvres and prove their military suitability. Real equipment from the US Army provides a suitable adventure feeling.
Like in a real army camp, you 'operate' and move into night bivouac under the protection of camouflage nets. Overnight on camp beds in a spacious van truck that once served as quarters for the battalion commander and offers air-conditioned comfort for up to six people.
The massive 5-tonner was furnished like a tactical operations centre true to the original and has a power connection, electric light, radio, battle map and maneuver table as well as a screen with DVD player. In bad weather you can pass the time with exciting war movies, which are just as ready as army blankets and field uniforms. Only sleeping bag and food have to be brought along.
Larger groups can also use for sleeping the erected military tents. The camp is even equipped with a first aid station to treat minor wounds. The mobile toilet proves to be very practical for urgent needs on site.
Shower and washing facilities are available for the volunteer 'temporary fighters' in the adjoining hotel, which also ensures proper catering if the self-catering at the camp's own charcoal grill causes dissatisfaction among the troops. If you like, you can even enjoy genuine military field rations of the US Army.
Picnic tables and an open communal area with fireplace complete the hillside military camp with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The area offers enough space for outdoor activities such as running training between the trees or building an MG nest from sandbags for the camp post on the machine gun. And not only children love to communicate via the provided walkie-talkie radios!
Also the leisure facilities in the area make for little boredom. Lava Hot Springs Water Park with its legendary hot springs and pools is just a few minutes drive from the hotel. Guests can choose between fishing, golf, swimming in the river or a ride on the cable car. A ride on a horse-drawn carriage into the mountains is particularly popular with young and old for a cowboy dinner with entertainment in wild west style.
There is no more American and original way to make a trip to the USA than with an exciting stay in this private military camp in the northwest of the United States! Of course also ideally suited as a teambuilding measure for companies to motivate employees.
